Voice Movement Integration & Expression

Voice Movement Integration is a practice combining voice with movement to stimulate and organize the body’s physical, perceptual and emotional awareness.

This workshop centers on training that develops skills connecting voice, movement, physical repatterning and improvisation. These approaches are complementary and use physical awareness and movement as a source for understanding the voice as a whole body experience.  These skills are then applied to Vocal Dance and improvisation to enliven and broaden the creative process.

This workshop is of particular interest to actors, singers, dancers, public speakers, health professionals and anyone interested in enhancing their use of voice and the body.

·  Practicing Active Breath to integrate breathing with movement and sound.

·  Engaging the fluidity of weight in the body through vocal resonance and vibration.

·  Experiencing the anatomy of the voice as a whole body experience.

·  Using the voice directly with movement in physical repatterning

·  Developing lively, full expression through voice and movement improvisation. 

Patricia Bardi is a voice/dance artist ,choreographer  and bodywork specialist. She teaches and performs throughout Europe and the USA and maintains a private practice working with children and adults in Amsterdam.  She is a founding member of the School for Body-Mind Centering (USA) and Chisenhale Dance Space, London and a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist with ISMETA. She has developed and teaches Organ Rebalancing - a professional bodywork training program at Rudolf Merkel, M.D.’s, School for Cranial Sacral Osteopathy in Zurich.

Most recently performed Tangle a Vocal Dance and Music piece with Alex Maguire, pianist and Coalescence a Voice and Movement performance with Makoto Matsushima, principal performer with an internationally acclaimed dance theater company from Tokyo.  In 1987 she founded the annual Vocal Dance and Theater Project in Tuscany, Italy. Since 1992 she has been teaching her professional training program Vocal Dance and Voice Movement Integration  recognized by ISMETA in Amsterdam.
