This retreat is a collaboration between three friends who really like to move and share their love for movement. Together (Maria, Alba e Tiziano) we decided to start a tradition of retreats where we’ll move through all the different worlds: Yoga (Navakarana Vinyasa), Himalayan meditation, Movement and somatic dance (inspired by Gaga Method), Ecstatic dance, Creative presence practices, Personal research and Moon ritual.
The program is suitable for everyone who loves to move: yogis, movers, dancers, performer. There’s no need for any dance background.
The level is suitable for both professional dancers and for movers with no dance background. We would really love to have participants that never danced and always wanted to. This is our true goal- to enable this mutual space.
Navakarana Vinyasa Yoga is the result of the integration of multiple knowledge such as anatomy, kinesiology, psychology, body manipulation, music therapy, self-healing and various tantric techniques. The Navakarana class has very unique characteristics: the teacher’s voice is tuned (śruti) to a tānapūrā (traditional four-stringed lute). Instructions are given by clapping or with a traditional instrument made of a block of wood (karatala). The class is guided with tempo (laya) and melody (svara). The teacher gives minimal instruction with tālam (rhythmic tapping) and a Sanskrit recitation tuned to a sound pitch (nāda) which facilitates smooth flowing, rhythmic breathing, concentration and mental clarity.
Movement and Somatic Dance – We’ll work on a series of improvisational exercises using emotions to stimulate abstract movement, texture, dynamics and coordination and will investigate how the body manifests certain feelings.
Practices of Presence and Creative Expression – We will enter practices and fun games that draw on the inexhaustible source of creative expression that lies dormant under the paralyzing fear of judgement: introspective and emotional practices will alternate with more expansive and liberating practices to reconnect with your inner child, in total presence and acceptance.
allows you to connect to your body and your imagination. Always interested in movement and its infinite possibilities,
Yoga comes out of necessity and when the student is ready, the teacher appears.
