TUNING INTO THE WILD 2017
ARTISTIC DIRECTION OF THE PROJECT: Francesco Zita
Tuning into the Wild is a PROJECT aiming to connect us deeply with a wild state in which we find our real nature, our weigth on the mother earth.
The different workshops, from qi gong to somatic practice, to voice and permaculture, will focus on developing awareness and creativity through voice-movement. It will take place amidst the scenic red earth of Puglia – South Italy, which will be our inspiration “muse” : Nature will be our guide, resonating in our instinctual wildness at the same time the sense of complete belonging in a place in which our identity can expand until we can feel ourselves being part of moving clouds, a sliver of grass shivering in the wind.
We will work in a dance studio that is open to the landscape around and we will also enjoy the sea at sunrise and secular olive tree forests, as well as excursions in a natural and undisturbed place.
This project will inspire both movers, dancers, actors, singers and those interested in Naturalism, Permaculture, Ecopsicology, Deep Ecology, ecoturism and to whom that wants to leave space for wonder and celebrate the soul of the world.
In this 3rd edition of TUNING INTO THE WILD we will practice qi gong, Feldenkrais, Body Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation, moving massage, bodywork with a Biodinamic Craniosacral approach and Permaculture lecture.
On the beach at sunrise, between one bath and the other, we will enjoy with sand massage, contact, meditation and yoga. During the excursion in a natural site we will practice Authentic mouvement and wild dance improvisation.
At sunset, in a circle under a geodesic dome, we will share traditional song of reconnection with Mather Earth.
We will have an evening sharing for who wants to show pieces, performances, video, photos, improvisation or contact jam.

MOVING VOICES
From silence to breath. The voice is the natural gesture I do to communicate, as the movement is. A body needs his voice, and the voice needs his body, do I perceive the path of my breath? where does my breath go and how does it become voice? How does my body move toward the voice?
During the workshop we will work on the active listening of the voice connected to the body, and on the relation with the space and with the others. The aim is to create a sound gesture starting from the silence.
We will make breathing excercises with voice and body, exploration of sounds, and improvisation in solo, duo and groups.
Each participant is asked to bring a small poem, or just sentences, or a little songs text.
Italian singer, sound artist, composer and performer based in Berlin. Her work is multidisciplinary and focused on the connection between voice, sound, field recordings, body and improvisation. She investigates and explores the realm of acoustic sounds and electronic interfaces as extension of human voice. Art and life, sound and movement, the common line is the improvisation which leads her to research and to create new worlds.
“Everything spawns from the urgency I carry inside myself, and from the need to create an artistic dimension I belong to, an intimate and pure dimension devoid of any sort of strict rules, and shareable with whoever wishes to be part of it. A search towards the essence, leading to a continuous discovery of new worlds, real and unreal, deformed, imaginary, mystic, irriverent and extreme worlds. Tuning in with the outside, with space and events, actions become ritual, short circuit, a flow of alteration”.
She studied Theater and dance at “Accademia Stabile del Musical”, she graduated with a bachelor of jazz music at Conservatory “N.Piccini” in Bari, Puglia, and with a Master of new musical languages and technology at the Conservatory “N.Rota” in Monopoli, Puglia. She studied with Meredith Monk, Faheem Mazaar, Chiara Guidi, Michela Lucenti, Patricia Bardi, Barry Harris, Zeno Gabaglio, Carlos Zingaro, Dave Moss, Kent Carter, Karl Berger, William Parker, etc etc. She sang the contemporary solo pieces for voice “Lettura di Braibanti” with and for Sylano Bussotti. She recorded with the Hocus Pocus Orchestra and William Parker the album “What Shall We Do” for Silta Records.

Touch, Connection and Discovery: Functional Integration and the Creative Organism
In this workshop we will explore touch-dialogues based on Feldenkrais ‘Functional Integration®’ practice as resource for creative interaction with our environment. We will experience different qualities and strategies of touch and attention to facilitate a supportive and organic connection between the toucher and the touched person. Somatic pioneer Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) described ‘Functional Integration’ as ‘general way of learning to learn’ that allows the learner to discover new and pleasurable sensory experiences and movement possibilities.
Thomas Kampe has worked with dance, theatre and movement for the last 30 years . Thomas has taught somatic approaches towards movement education in different settings around the world. He and currently works at Bath Spa University as Senior Lecturer for Acting. He is a qualified teacher of the Feldenkrais Method ® which forms a foundation for his teaching, research and his artistic practice.

Exploring some of the systems of the body through BMC®, connecting to ease and silence, finding our own resources for movement. Bones, fluids, organs, nervous system, glands, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue colour our presence and movement, our relation to space and to the other. We will explore some of these qualities through hands on and movement, inviting them to grow into solos and group dances.
Developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Body Mind Centering® is an experiential study of anatomy and physiology as well of the ontogenetic developmental patterns. Through touch, movement, voice and mind we explore the different systems in the body to integrate and embody their qualities and their interactions; we go through the journey of the development and play with the different patterns, discovering support and potential of movement building up along the way. The basic aim of BMC® is integrating the physical, psychological, intellectual, imaginary and creative minds and discovering new pathways towards easiness and movement.
Sarita Beraha is a Greek performer, visual artist as well as a teacher of Body Mind Centering® and improvisation. Based in Paris, she has danced and taught in Belgium, France, Greece and Italy.
